Private ALBERT WILLIAM FREDERICK ROBBINS was best man for Sergeant ERIC SPIERS of 3 Commando. When Sergeant ERIC SPEARS was killed on Sunday the 11th June 1944, Private ROBBINS returned his wedding ring to his widow while on leave. Private ROBBINS was killed on Sunday 20th August 1944, soon after returning to the Normandy battlefields.1
