From the 11th Hussars War Diary: "2Tp and 5Tp spent the night together, and 3Tp with the Infantry. The rest of the Sqn slept in a sunken lane which was almost shell and bomb proof. Poor Tpr Humphrey in the Scout Tp was killed by a mortar that day, one could not want a better man." Rest in Peace Trooper Humphrey.
