ALAN FRANCIS PAVEY was born in Stamford Street South East London on Sunday 7th September 1919.1
Flight Lieutenant ALAN FRANCIS PAVEY, DFC, was on an armed reconnaissance mision in a North American P-51 Mustang, Mark III, FZ167, on the morning of Thursday the 27th July 1944. He was killed during combat with Messerscmitt (ME) Bf109s and Focke-Wulf Fw190s near Pont L'Eveque. He was initially buried in St Michael Churchyard [location unknown], but his body was later exhumed and reburied in LES PREUX CHURCHYARD.2
He had flown out of Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) B12 at Ellon, Calvados, Normandy, situated to the north-east of where JERUSALEM WAR CEMETERY, CHOUAIN is now located.
