Additional Information
Known as George to the family, WILLIAM GEORGE DAVIES was born in April 1920. He was a King's Scout and Assistant Scoutmaster in his youth.1 After joing the Royal Air Force he trained and became a flying instructor in the United States of America before joining 158 Royal Air Force Squadron on 6th June 1944.
Flight Lieutenant WILLIAM GEARGE DAVIES was killed on the 18th July 1944, on his 9th operational sortie, during Operation GOODWOOD when his plane was hit near the village of Amfréville, north-east of Caen and crashed at Argences.2
